Orlando Rock Camp for Girls is a week-long day camp held during summer that offers girls, ages 8-17, the opportunity to form a band, write an original song, and perform at a local live music venue at the end of the week showcase. The girls also participate in various workshops throughout the week including screen printing, songwriting, self-defense, history of women in music, and positive body image.
Our camp was without a location for three years, and thus, our camp was not able to run. Now we are back, with a location, a devoted group of core volunteers, and a plan of action to regain our status as a non-profit corporation. We are hitting the ground running with recruitment, and seeking out different avenues for financial assistance for everyday camper expenses (equipment and gear, instruments, food, arts and crafts materials, anything else we need to make this the best girls rock camp experience ever!).
Our camp will be held July 23th – 27th at Anchor Point Ecumenical Center in Apopka with our showcase on July 28th at Will’s Pub in Orlando. The cost of the camp is $350 and scholarships are available.
